PicoSure technology · All ink colors
Lasertattooremoval.Everycolor,everyskintype.
PicoSure picosecond laser delivers ultra-short pulses that shatter ink particles while protecting surrounding skin. Effective on colors older Q-switched lasers couldn't touch — greens, blues, stubborn blacks.

Quick answer
Bravo MedSpa offers PicoSure laser tattoo removal — a picosecond laser that shatters ink particles into smaller fragments the body clears through the lymphatic system.
Sessions are performed by Samantha Jones, our laser technician. Most tattoos require 6–10 sessions spaced 6–8 weeks apart. PicoSure outperforms older Q-switched lasers on difficult colors (green, blue) and reduces total sessions needed across most tattoos.
Why clients book tattoo removal
The tattoo that stopped meaning what it used to.
Most removal clients aren't regretful teenagers. They're adults whose tastes, jobs, or relationships have shifted. PicoSure is the clean exit.
Visible tattoo conflicting with professional life
Healthcare, legal, financial, client-facing roles often quietly require coverage. Removal is the cleaner long-term solution than long sleeves.
Wedding coming and wedding dress doesn't cover it
Forearm, back, shoulder tattoos that won't work with a strapless or backless gown. Start 12+ months before the wedding.
Name tattoo from a past relationship
The most common single reason clients book. PicoSure is effective on all ink colors, so the partner's name in colored ink removes as well as black.
Tattoo you wanted covered — but need lightened first
Cover-up artists frequently require 3–4 laser sessions first to lighten the existing ink. This allows the new design to show through without becoming muddy.
How it works
Picosecond pulses, ink shatters.
01
Picosecond pulse delivery
PicoSure delivers laser energy in picoseconds (trillionths of a second) — 100× shorter than older Q-switched nanosecond lasers. This shatters ink via photomechanical action, not heat.
02
Ink fragmentation
The ultra-short pulse fragments ink particles into microscopic pieces too small to remain visible but small enough for the body's macrophages to engulf.
03
Lymphatic clearance over 6 weeks
Fragmented ink is transported by macrophages through the lymphatic system and eliminated gradually. This is why sessions are spaced 6–8 weeks apart — to allow full clearance before the next fragmentation.
The numbers
Shatter the ink. Let the body clear it.
The clearance is the whole timeline. No laser removes a tattoo in one session — the body has to take the fragments away, and that takes weeks per session.

Treatment zones
Every body zone — different pace, same protocol.
Forearm & wrist
Most common zone. 6–10 sessions typical depending on ink density and colors. Professional black ink often 8+ sessions.
Back & shoulder
Large format, often broken into sectioned sessions. Pricing per size zone. Slower clearance but standard protocol.
Hand & finger
Thinner skin, faster clearance, fewer sessions (often 5–7). Specific aftercare — hands heal differently than limbs.
Foot & ankle
Slower lymphatic clearance in extremities means longer intervals between sessions (8–10 weeks). Worth the wait — good long-term result.

Consultation + photos
Samantha assesses tattoo size, ink colors, depth, location, and skin type. Photos documented for progress comparison.
Topical numbing (45 min)
Heavy compounded numbing cream on the tattoo zone. This is non-negotiable — tattoo removal without adequate numbing is intensely painful.
Protective eyewear + cool prep
Both you and Samantha wear wavelength-specific protective eyewear. Skin chilled with cooling air or ice packs immediately prior.
Laser pulses across tattoo
PicoSure pulses cover the tattoo in a grid pattern. Each pulse feels like a hot rubber band snap. Session time: 5 minutes for small tattoos to 30 minutes for large.
Cold compress + ointment
Immediate ice pack for 10 minutes. Antibacterial ointment + sterile dressing applied. Aftercare instructions reviewed.
6–8 week follow-up
Next session 6–8 weeks out. Progress photo comparison at each visit to track response and adjust settings.
Results timeline
Fade, clearance, completion.
Day 0
Session 1
Immediate blanching (white frost), followed by redness and slight swelling for 24–48 hours. Blister possible. Tattoo looks unchanged initially.
Visible fade
Week 6–8
First real fade visible. Tattoo is lighter, edges softer. Next session scheduled here.
Month 4–10
Session 4–6
Significant fade. Some colors may be fully gone; stubborn colors (green, dark blue) may still need sessions.
Completion
Session 8–10
Full clearance typical for most tattoos. Some ink may leave a ghost shadow — full photographic clearance not always achievable on every ink.
Maintenance
1 year
Rarely needed. If residual ghosting bothers you, 1–2 additional sessions 6 months apart usually clears it.
Eligibility
Right for most — a few important exceptions.

Hartford & Rocky Hill
The Connecticut tattoo removal journey.
Most Bravo tattoo removal clients start their series in fall or winter — the post-session tattoo zone cannot be sun-exposed for 2 weeks, which rules out summer start dates. Cover-up lightening clients (preparing for a new tattoo) typically run 3–4 sessions over 6–8 months.
Bridal tattoo removal starts 12+ months before the wedding. Less time means residual ghosting may still be present on the day — which is often acceptable but should be expected.
