Body contouring · Phase two
CoolTone.30,000contractionspersession.
Active Magnetic Pulse technology that triggers contractions voluntary exercise cannot reach. FDA-cleared for the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs. The muscle-building companion to CoolSculpting's fat reduction.
Quick answer
CoolTone is FDA-cleared magnetic muscle stimulation — about 30,000 supramaximal contractions per 30-minute session — used to strengthen, tone, and firm the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs.
At Bravo MedSpa, CoolTone is operated by a Connecticut-licensed Registered Nurse under the supervision of Medical Director Dr. Nicole Saunders. Most clients complete a 4-to-6 session series over 2–3 weeks, pair it with CoolSculpting for combined fat reduction and muscle tone, and continue monthly maintenance to hold the result.
Why clients book CoolTone
You've put in the reps. The definition isn't coming.
Muscle definition has a ceiling voluntary contraction cannot cross. For the specific fibres below that threshold — lower abs, deep glutes, postpartum core, the inner-thigh shelf — CoolTone is the bridge.
Your workouts plateaued six months ago
You're still training, still logging the reps. But the mirror stopped changing. CoolTone works the muscle fibres voluntary contractions cannot reach.
You can't isolate the muscle you actually want
The lower abs below the navel. The gluteus medius for shape. The obliques. Voluntary exercise recruits broad muscle groups — AMP targets specific fibres with surgical precision.
Postpartum diastasis or a weakened core
After pregnancy or rapid weight loss, the abdominal wall often needs reactivation before traditional training helps. CoolTone is cleared for post-partum core strengthening from six months post-birth.
Time is the real constraint
A 30-minute CoolTone session delivers the contractile load of a 2-hour targeted strength workout. For West Hartford professionals with 5am schedules, that math matters.
How it works
Active Magnetic Pulse — the muscle response voluntary contraction cannot produce.
01
Active Magnetic Pulse generation
The applicator generates a focused electromagnetic field that penetrates 7 cm into tissue — bypassing skin and fat to reach motor neurons directly.
02
Supramaximal muscle contraction
Neurons fire muscle fibres at an intensity impossible to achieve voluntarily. One session delivers ~30,000 contractions — the equivalent of 20,000 crunches or squats.
03
Hypertrophy and fibre remodelling
Over the 4-to-6 session series, muscle fibres repair thicker and denser. Results continue improving for three to six months after your last treatment.
The numbers
30 minutes. 30,000 contractions. One applicator, one zone.
The load a trained athlete could not replicate in a full gym session. Delivered in the time it takes you to drive from Blue Back Square to Bradley Airport.

Treatment zones
FDA-cleared for three zones. Precision-targeted for each.
Abdomen
FDA-cleared for strengthening and firming. Best for core definition, post-partum diastasis (after six months), and the lower-abdomen shelf resistant to crunches.
Buttocks
FDA-cleared for firming and toning. Lifts the gluteal shelf without implants or BBL surgery. Popular for bridal prep and post-GLP-1 body reset.
Thighs
FDA-cleared for strengthening. Targets the quadriceps and inner/outer thigh muscles. Often paired with CoolSculpting on the saddlebag area.
What happens at your session
The Bravo CoolTone protocol — thirty minutes, end to end.
Consultation & zone mapping
15-minute consult with Alica or Sarah. We mark the applicator position, confirm eligibility, and set expectations on session count and timeline.
Applicator placement
You lie flat. A single applicator pad is secured over the treatment zone with a medical strap. No needles, no numbing, no preparation.
Intensity ramp-up (5 min)
We start at 20% intensity and increase over the first five minutes until you reach your therapeutic level. You feel progressive contraction intensity.
Treatment phase (25 min)
Sustained supramaximal contraction cycles. You can scroll, read, listen. Some clients nap through the second half once they acclimatise.
Cool-down & check-in
The applicator ramps down. We check muscle response, hydration, and any concerns. Most clients stand up and walk out without soreness for 12–24 hours.
Aftercare
Hydrate aggressively for 24 hours. Protein intake matters — aim for 1.6–2.2 g/kg body weight. Train normally. Expect 24–48 hours of DOMS-style soreness after the first two sessions.
A note from Alica
A pattern I've watched play out over and over in CoolTone series is the session-6 plateau. Clients are enthusiastic for sessions 1 through 3, start to feel the muscle soreness decreasing and assume the treatment is losing effect, then arrive at session 5 or 6 ready to quit the series early.
What's actually happening is that your muscles have adapted to the supramaximal contraction — the same load feels less dramatic because your capacity to absorb it has grown. The tone response is still building; you just aren't perceiving the delivery the same way. If you're mid-series and feel like it's stopped working, that's the plateau. Don't quit. Finish the sessions you paid for. The week 12 photos will tell you a different story than the session 6 experience.
Results timeline
When clients start seeing it — and when the real change lands.
Day 0
Session 1
You feel every contraction. Muscle soreness for 24–48 hours — similar to a hard leg day.
Week 2
Session 3
First visible changes. Tone tightens. Clothes fit differently in the targeted zone.
Week 3
Session 6
Series complete. Peak contractile load delivered. Hypertrophy response underway.
Post-series
Month 3
Muscle fibre remodelling continues. This is often when clients say the change really lands.
Maintenance
Month 6
Monthly top-up sessions hold the result. Skip them and tone gradually softens — like any strength training.
Eligibility
CoolTone is brilliant for some, wrong for others. Honest on both.

The complete contour
CoolSculpting removes. CoolTone rebuilds. Sequence matters.
Fat and muscle are different tissues with different biology. The cleanest body-contouring plans treat them sequentially — freeze the fat first, then build the muscle underneath. Doing both well requires both modalities.
Phase one
CoolSculpting
Cryolipolysis at -11°C crystallises fat cells without damaging skin or muscle. Cells are metabolised and permanently eliminated over 8–12 weeks. FDA-cleared for 9 body areas.

CoolTone
Active Magnetic Pulse at 30,000 contractions per session builds the muscle underneath the freshly contoured fat layer. The definition clients chase in the mirror finally appears.
You are hereCoolTone is not a replacement for fitness. It's a multiplier for what your training is already doing — and a reactivation path for muscle your training can no longer reach. That distinction keeps our results honest.

Hartford & Rocky Hill
The CoolTone season, Connecticut-style.
Most Bravo CoolTone series land in three calendar windows: January (post-holiday reset and the Hartford gym rebound), April (Travelers Championship week body prep at TPC River Highlands, three minutes from our Rocky Hill location), and September (post-summer and the New England wedding photo-season aftermath).
CoolTone pairs naturally with the WeHa Equinox and Bradley Beach lifestyles — clients who train consistently but want the last layer of definition voluntary contraction cannot produce. Our morning appointments (7am and 7:30am slots) are built for the 5am-training West Hartford and Glastonbury professional crowd.
Book at our West Hartford flagship at 61 South Main Street or our Rocky Hill location at 825 Cromwell Avenue — equal protocols, equal providers, equal outcomes.
